The Danish Novo Nordisk Foundation (https://novonordiskfonden.dk/en/), which is dedicated to promoting health and sustainability, announces funding measures of particular strategic importance every year. These are then evaluated and selected in a highly selective process by a committee of internationally renowned scientists.
In the 2025 call for proposals, topic 1 ‘Heterogeneity in Biomanufacturing’ focused on the conversion of greenhouse gases into valuable materials using microorganisms. 2 projects, each with a duration of 6 years and a volume of DKK 60 million, were selected for funding. Fortunately, the Institute of Biochemcial Engineering (IBVT) was able to participate as a partner in both projects (MORE-GAS, coordinator Prof. Krist Gernaey; Recipe, coordinator Prof. Alfred Spoerman) https://novonordiskfonden.dk/en/news/challenge-accepted-new-funding-for-ambitious-projects-within-biomanufacturing-cardiometabolic-diseases-and-artificial-intelligence/.
We are looking forward to collaborate with our colleagues at DTU Denmark, Centre for Biosustainability, University of Aarhus and at the University of Wageningen.
